I can only speak personally and I have found packages to Hawaii very expensive compared to what I could source personally, and with an extremely limited selection of hotels / flights. But on top of that Hawaii is now extremely expensive for accommodation post pandemic. There used to be a number of reasonable options on most islands and they are now few and far between compared to my previous experiences!
Oh no really I had my 2020 cancelled and was planning for next year. I haven’t started looking yet but I should as want to go next August

I’m not trying to put you off

We always found Waikiki very affordable in the past, it may be that the higher prices are still well within your accommodation budget

I got quotes from Trailfinders for SF/Hawaii and for Vancouver/Seattle. Was planning DIY but a friend said they could be competitive and their website did have hotel deals like 30% off or stay 3 get 4th night free so thought I'd see what they could offer. To say I nearly fell off the chair when he read out the price would be an understatement. Both quotes were north of 10K.

We did SF/Hawaii/SD for half what they quoted and we're doing Van/Seattle with business class outbound for less than half of what they quoted.

My sister got a similar quote for her honeymoon - I found her better flights and hotels for £4.5k less!
