Sorry to jumpy on this thread. I’m very new to gardening, but why will there only be peat free compost soon? What wrong with the normal stuff? 🤣

Nothing wrong with it in itself, but the production of it is damaging the environment. It's ruining delicate wildlife habitats and removing carbon sinks thus contributing to global warming.

I don't like peat free compost but do see the need for it.

Start your own little compost heap, soon builds up with spare leftover veg, flowers, garden waste, cardboard etc. Next year you’ll have a decent little pile

A lot of it is still very poor quality sadly. I use New Horizon and have done for several years, I can recommend it as one of the best
