Mears no long do Shuttle to Hotel - alternatives

As above, we've just discovered that Mears Shuttle no longer has Hilton Grand Vacations Tuscany Village on its list of hotels this services. Which right royally sucks as it was nice and affordable back in 2018!

Does anyone know why this is the case, and can anyone suggest any cheap alternatives? Private taxis are working out at over $70 each way, about 3/4 times as much as Mears Shuttle would be

We did a private hire of a mini van with Mears this week. It was $45 dollars from Disney to Universal. Not sure if they charge more for an airport pick up/drop off. I just booked it the night before on their website-they turned up early, driver was great, van was clean and comfy. Very easy process so maybe worth a look on their website.

I have read some really bad experiences with mears on here over the last few weeks. 😬 this was for airport runs though.

Have you looked at uber? Am not sure where your starting point is or if it for an airport run or to get from parks to hotel.

Thanks for your reply - can I ask how you booked it? We are finding the Mears website very confusing. Also cheapest Mears we can find is $90 one way!

Also sorry, I should elaborate, this is just to get us to and from the airport - it seems a minefield. We're also confused that if we book a private taxi the pickup time seems to mirror our plane arrival time - whereas we assume it'll take a good hour or so through customs - we can't imagine our taxi would wait for us for that time!

We have used Uber Black to get from the airport to Tuscany Village in the past - maybe try pricing it up? No need to worry if your flight is delayed then… 🙂

We were the same in May! Always booked mears for Rosen plaza but couldn't book via their website, I assumed it was something to do with Disney deal?!
Anyway we got an Uber, and that is definitely what we will be doing in the future! It was so easy and we'll signposted at MCO and was so much cheaper!

Thanks for the reply - did you just head down to the Lyft / Uber pick up slot and then order one on your phone, yeah? My partner is worried about surge pricing or affordability/reliability. Though my argument is that a Mears taxi is super expensive!

That’s what we did, yes.
We actually had Mears booked but I came across the awful reviews 2 weeks before we were due to leave so I cancelled them and we just Uber’s it. I actually preferred it as it was quick and direct and we got to choose what time we got picked up etc.

Ours was just over 60 dollars each way including a 20% tip. Mco - Disney world.

You can keep refreshing the app to get different prices if worried about surge pricing. It’s dead easy to use 👍

We sure did, I think we waited maybe 15/20 mins? The blocks are numbered and they tell you once confirmed which block to stand at. I can't remember the exact amount but I think it was roughly $40 ( that's including the tip!)
