Two people driving but not spouse

I had booked with Andy through Alamo for September. My DD (main driver) and DH will be driving.

I didn’t realise until yesterday it had to be spouse! I just don’t understand in this day in age why just spouse!

I now have had to upgrade to gold and obviously that is more expensive.

I think all of the rental companies give you your spouse for free whoever you book through. This is a nice perk. Any non spouse additional driver has to be paid for, which is nothing new.

When we went last time we booked with Alamo via the offer in 'Brits Guide to Orlando' our 2 x drivers we my husband and my daughters boyfriend. We had no issues.

BA alos give free additional driver if both people are in the executive club - I have never used this yet - but may have to next year - myself and son will be drivers.

For 8 passengers Alamo Brits £3600 for 15 seat van for May 23 - would be Uber's instead of that price!

Alamo vans are still really expensive, try a quote for a 12 seater for your dates from Avis/Budget through Holiday Autos. We’ve got one this September/October for just over £1200 picking up and dropping off at MCO

It's terminology. It's not fact.
If you explain who the 2nd driver is, it will be fine.

Certain companies include driver & spouse / live in partner as standard however this is not every company. Some only include driver and spouse if you're signed up to their membership program and only if its linked to the booking which is not always possible when booking through 3rd parties. Some packages through different trade accounts allow two drivers without the spouse clause... clear?

It really does depend on the website you book through and what T&C's they have in place with the rental company.
