Driving test woes

I know many of you have experienced the same (or worse), but DD has just had her practical driving test scheduled for the end of July cancelled and moved to October!

She was hoping to have taken her test (and hopefully passed) before heading off to uni. It’s seems it’s not meant to be.

She had her theory test cancelled last year and then obviously had lessons disrupted too.

I know it’s a first world problem, but it’s just so frustrating.

We’ve downloaded the testi app to try and find a cancellation sooner, but I’m not holding out much hope.

Any other suggestions / ideas please?

That’s not good! Why was it pushed back?! DS currently has one booked for September and we are trying to get a cancellation sooner. He failed his first test last month, and the biggest frustration is having to wait so long for a retest, otherwise it wouldn’t be such a big deal. His last test was brought forward from August so we thought he’d get a sooner one quite easily but we’ve been waiting a few weeks and nothing

Hope you manage to get an earlier date!

My son eventually had his test last October (3 weeks after he started uni). Unfortunately my son and lots of his friends were in a similar position last year. Luckily the 4 extra months of lessons meant he passed first time!

Her test was cancelled because ‘the examiner is no longer available.’ I don’t know whether someone has left, booked leave or something else, but it seems unfair that it’s been pushed back by almost 3 months. She’s well and truly fed up... fingers crossed for a cancellation.

Fingers crossed too for everyone else in a similar position.

So unlucky. Hope you find a cancellation test for her.

We were fortunate to get DD a cancellation test in late December which she thankfully passed in time for lock down.

I found that going onto the test website around 0930 each day found her a cancellation before any of these apps. For the one we got her, it appeared on the app 7 hours after I had already grabbed it.

That’s awful , my friend at work had hers booked the week before they were allowed to resume and can’t get one until October . My youngest had his booked for January, when they announced second lock down we cancelled his straight away and rebooked for May which was the earliest . Luckily he passed last week otherwise he was looking at Christmas time for retake . Hope you manage to get a cancellation.

Some of my DD’s friends are in this situation, one passed last week and another has her test booked for July.

My DD was really lucky, she turned 17 last April and she passed first time right before Christmas, some of her friends still trying/waiting for their test turned 17 quite a bit before she did
