What do YOU do if you are under-charged in a restaurant?

I generally like the feel good factor that comes with ‘doing the right thing’.

To make them look good or they think that's what people want them to say to justify their position.

Happens all the time including in real life, people say something to someone's face and then do something totally different. That's why something's may seem popular in social media etc but in real life they are not.

Oh I know for sure some do (I remember a while back someone being caught out) - I am not that naive! I was just thinking about this poll as it would be a bit sad to lie about it.

I’m a proper square and totally goody two shoes 🤣 but I live by the ‘do to others as you would have them do to you’. Honesty goes a long way and helps me sleep at night

I'm another who wouldn't notice either underpaid or over. I just hand the card over , pay and probably check the bill at home out of curiosity. So I can't vote either way.

Many years ago we were in South Wales and went to a small restaurant and it was obviously a young nervous trainee waitress who served us and we were undercharged. We pointed it out to her as we didn’t want her to get into trouble later only for the person passing to not be a customer but the sharp eared owner. He overheard her say she would amend it and thanked us for our honesty and then in front of us he berated her for making a mistake. We were cross and thought it unprofessional and told him we did not appreciate his behaviour and everyone can make a mistake when learning. We still left her a tip and apologised for getting her in trouble. It has made us think twice before owning up again but we still do say if undercharged.
