Interesting that all of those who say they wouldn’t speak up are staying anonymous

We would say something, and have done many times.

Because they don't feel the need to justify their reasons for their choice?

I edited my post, and my point is now lost, which was more that some of those who would speak up decided to not remain anonymous

I’d be quick enough to point out I’d been overcharged so it’s only right and fair that I’d say something if I’d been undercharged.
I certainly wouldn’t like to think the waiting on staff might get into trouble or have to make up the shortfall themselves.

I think we've twice been undercharged in a restaurant, once in Florida, once in UK. Both times I pointed it out, same as I do if undercharged in a shop.

I own up - always give a cursory glance (never check detail) but if it looks wrong I tell them (else personally I would feel like I was stealing and the guilt I would have would eat me up (once a Catholic school boy always guilt ridden lol)

I have done and always would if I noticed. I’d worry that someone could get into trouble or lose their job

Same as me - if it was wildly out then I would say something but I wouldn’t generally look if it was in the ballpark of what I was expecting so wouldn’t have done anything - but if I’d realised I’d of said - I would of felt too bad for whoever had made the mistake not to fess up!

I loosely have an idea of what the bill should be, as long as it’s within £20 of that figure I actually don’t check it.

I’m someone who nearly drove back to Tesco because I’d forgotten to scan something that was 50p after the handscanner refused it and I was meant to add it on at the end and completely forgot. So if I noticed in the restaurant I would say I think, I never have though until I’m home.
