Hotel between Santa Barbara and Long Beach
Can anyone recommend a cheap but decent hotel anywhere between Santa Barbara and Long Beach?
We don't want to spend too much as we will not be arriving until late and need 5 rooms. However, we want somewhere clean and safe and preferably in a nice area. Thanks

Sadly, I’m not sure there are any cheap hotels all along that part of the coast. Those 2 areas are only about 2-3 hours apart, so it would help to know the reason.
The sea view inn Manhattan beach is always recommended by trip advisor locals or one of the chain hotels like the Holiday inn express at Ventura are normally decent value as they have free parking and breakfast included. Edited at 09:49 AM. |

I have family that live in Thousand Oaks, which is roughly about halfway between Santa Barbara and Long Beach, so I have been there often to visit. Thousand Oaks and it’s adjoining community called Newbury Park are very nice areas, so I recommend looking at hotels in either of those locations. Avoid any Motel 6’s- they are cheap as dirt but real junky no matter where they are located. Best Western, La Quinta, Quality Inn, Holiday Inn Express are all decent chains that have reasonable rates.
