No, you phone does the communication over bluetooth, most of the rides do not have a touch point for ride photos now, so you have to use your phones bluetooth or a magic band.

I love the idea of using the system on the phone - concerned though if you have Mum, Dad and daughter on the same phone does it slow things down for getting in and into Lightening Lanes etc?

Personally if it were me i would just pick up some nice 50th branded tickets from Guest Services at the park or Disney Springs.
