Depends on the model.
Ours is quite old now (hero 3 white) Pros: Wide angle Compact Point and shoot video Lots of mounts Waterproof housing Cons No image stabilisation Poor sound, terrible sound in the waterproof housing Needs a few mounts to be useable Firmware is really buggy No screen as standard No zoom for the things we've used it for on this trip its been fine... mainly timelapse and Discovery Cove... but the Canon G7X has been used more in the parks. Swap the G7X out for our less expensive Panasonic TZ60 and my opinion would be the same. They definitely have their uses, but I prefer a half decent compact or day to day video |

Earning My Ears

I have the original cheapest Go Pro, bought to go to Florida in 2015.
Used it mainly at the water parks and in the pool at the villa but did take it on water rides like Jurassic Park. Well worth the £79 or whatever I paid for it. I used the footage to make a video of our holiday when we came home. I had music over it so the sound wasn't an issue. The kids absolutely loved taking it down slides at the water parks, because I'd bought a pack of non go pro accessories which was about £20 but the yellow one to make it float in the water seemed to be the best hit! They used it like a mini selfie stick! In my opinion its worth it but would never buy an expensive one. |
