Laptop for uni

Anyone recommend a laptop I can get DD for uni please? Will need to buy it on interest free and maximum budget around Ł500. Not sure what spec to look at or what to include. Any tips please?

I bought a cheap hp netbooks and just finished the second year of my degree i have managed fine it's not necessary to spend a lot I just back up stuff to an external hard drive once I've completed and submitted the work I paid about Ł125

Hi,

I have been reading up on lots of things for university, DD doesn't go till next year but one of the big things that the universities are saying when we visit them is that they provide you with the latest OFFICE software for free so look into whether the uni offers this as this will save you a considerable sum.

It very much depends on what course she is doing - an English degree will need a different machine to a software engineering or mathematics one.

Oh didn't think of that. Buisness management with sports specialism foundation then hopefully on to sports development and coaching. Not even considered if uni would help with office.
