Universal tickets saving for 2018
Have just ordered an annual pass that includes no black out dates and free parking at £301 ( 2 park ticket ) plus discounts on food, merchandise and hotel bookings
Universal tickets for 2 or 3 park tickets for 2018 are £250 (upgradable to annual 2 day pass for around £5 I believe) If you are a party of 4 and one person bought the annual ticket upto the end of 2017 it would save you £45 parking on 4 visits so = £256 Then the remainder bought standard tickets it would equate to the similar cost The saving would come into effect when you start buying food and merchandise as you get over 10% off most food outlets and upto 20% on merchandise May be a good saving Edited at 11:23 AM. |

Be aware that you pay parking the first visit as your pass isn't activated. It does say this in the small print.

Please note that it's around £5 to upgrade to the 2-Park Seasonal Annual Pass, which has block out dates, no free parking and only gets you into US and IOA.
BTW, the 2-Park Seasonal Annual Pass currently costs $303 with tax, which is about £230.

The upgrade cost me $5.06 for a 2 day seasonal pass making the total cost £215.06
I bought a universal annual pass for the free parking and discounts on food and merchandise online So the cost of the 2 annual tickets is basically the same as 2 x 14 day passes. Granted I don’t get volcano bay and some black out days on one of the tickets but we can easily avoid those as we travel as a couple |

A slight correction: it's not a 2 day seasonal pass, it's a 2-park seasonal pass.
I was clarifying to anyone else reading this that the $5 upgrade was just to the 2-Park Seasonal Pass, in case they thought that it would only cost $5 to upgrade to a 2-Park Preferred Pass "that includes no black out dates and free parking" (as per your first sentence). The term "annual pass" can be a bit vague because Universal sell about 8 different annual passes, each giving different benefits and costing different amounts of money.

I'm confussed I've bought 4, universal 3 park 14 day passes if I upgrade 1 of these tickets would I then be able to park for free for the rest of our visits during our holiday? Just thinking if it's only $5 that's going to be cheaper than parking another 3 times
Thanks |

No the $5 gives you a seasoned pass with blackouts for 2 parks
So if you do these upgrades to annual pass do it at the end of your last day at universal or you will lose the volcano park To get free parking the annual pass must be a preffered pass at around £301 ( less the cost of your original ticket) You will get a 2 park pass but again lose volcano bay Edited at 09:44 PM. |

As mike4scuba explains above (and as I tried to explain earlier) the $5 upgrade just gets you the 2-Park Seasonal Pass, which does not include parking, has block out dates, and only gets you into US and IOA.
You need the Preferred Pass to get free parking. If you upgrade a 14 day ticket to one of these it will cost an additional £80 (approx). That's around $105. Parking another 3 times will cost $60 ($20 x 3), so paying for parking would be cheaper than upgrading to a Preferred Pass if you weren't going to Orlando twice in one year.

But don’t forget along with the preffered annual pass you will also gain discounts on merchandise and food which would soon wipe out the $45 difference over a 4 day visit with a party of 4
Only equates to less than $3 a day per person
