Mobile Naples - briarwood?

We've booked flights for next July flying into Miami and want to stay in the Naples area. We've found some properties on briarwood - is it convenient for the beach etc? We don't mind driving to get to the beach/meals out. I'm aware that it's approx 10dollars to park near the beach - are there plenty of spaces?
We plan on visiting various beaches, going on boat trips etc. Thanks

There are lots of beach car parks but these can get full really quickly as a lot of them only hold about 15 cars. We find that Vanderbilt beach parking is the best as it's a big car park, we still had to cruise a bit but managed to park (weekends and bank holidays are rammed) I think it was 25c for 15 mins parking so make sure you have plenty of quarters, you can go to the bank and buy a whole roll of them!

If you want to park for free near the pier beach then park around the junction of 3rd street south and Broad avenue and then walk. Quite easy even with kit. You could also buy a beach permit for about £50 from the town hall. You will need to peel it off carefully before returning the hire car (put a little bit of paper or card at the edge!) It lasts for a year. We once saved ours and brought it back for another holiday the following year!
