He did praise Empty Garden... I like that one a lot. Princess is one those songs that you hear walking around malls, or coming out of speakers around Kissimmee and you think crikey, haven't heard that for ages... like it now but at the time thought it was so-so. Wonder if Taupin was dismissive about Jump Up because his contribution was less than usual.

It is strange, in lots of ways I think we are seeing the last couple of years of going to America where the playlist of malls etc, sports events seems to be forever 1970s. At some point they'll figure out the average visitor/shopper doesn't know those songs, so they'll move on to One Direction or whatever.
The songs they play over there on rotation are different to in UK as well, I remember hearing Tiny Dancer a lot long before it was featured in Almost Famous, in US, Canada and Australia where it was released as a single, but never here, where it wasn't.

Another album, like Jump Up! that seems to be forgotten which I really like is Caribou, some really good quirky songs, I've Seen The Saucers, Dixie Lily, Pinky - love it.

I have never been too keen on Empty Garden, it was one of them songs which is highly praised but just never clicked with it.. dont get me wrong is a good song but just missing some spark for me if you know what i mean..

Going more recent.. this is a great mega mix.. - wish i could of witnessed this !
