There have been many years when we’ve not got close to $1.38 ..

I work in a bank with access to the last 50 years currency rates and you are talking nonsense.

That's somewhat an exaggeration of my post, but there have been reports of a $7 billion drop in US tourism revenue since Trump took office so it's not too much of a stretch in my opinion to think that some of the loss will affect Disney.

US visitors have been falling for a couple of years. The biggest drop being Canadians, whilst from China, South Korea and Mexico increased.

A good test of how much effect President Trump has on visitor numbers would be if the USD falls in value significantly. If the rate goes back over $2 for £1 for instance. I've never been overly worried about whom the President is, it won't spoil my holiday... hopefully.

Are you sure. We bought DVC at over $2 to the pound. We were there when Barack Obama was inaugurated and it was around $1.30.

And I’m not !

I know for a fact we had the low 1.30s, maybe even 1.30 .

I’m sure somewhere I could go back and find out

And since when did tourists get bank rates pretty sure the likes of caxton are usually a bit less .

But hey don’t you be wrong lol

I don't talk nonsense and neither does Daytonababe.

When we bought our DVC in 2007 we got $2.05 to the £.

Yes exactly .. even now it’s only the likes of Revolut that give the bank rate.

It was a really low point specially after such a high for the few years previous .

I showed you in the graph what the bank rate was. You can go and look up what the rate was online if you want - it's as per the graph I showed above.

Between 1990 and June 2016, the official rate has never been $1.35 or lower. That's a fact.

Now, admittedly, high street stores, TAs and various other places won't sell at the bank rate. They can sell at any rate they want - usually around 4c lower than the bank rate but sometimes even less than that.

But we're all talking about the bank rate here on this thread. Because high street stores and the like won't actually give you a rate of $1.35 to the £ at the moment. They'll probably give you around $1.31 or so. And I suspect some places out there are only providing a rate of $1.25 to the £.

But folk on here - including yourself - were all talking about a current rate of $1.35. And that's the bank rate.
