We flew from MCO-JFK in July with American Airlines for £100 each. We then paid $25 per bag at the airport. We booked around 3 months before travelling

Oh yes, sorry that's one way. I have read some threads here saying they have got it for less, around £80 each way but we travelled on the weekend of 4th July so as it is holiday time in the US it was slightly dearer. £100 each way is around the usual though

still puts the flights from lhr to jfk to mco and then back at close to £900 each a little too much, normally pay about £650 via dublin to mco

We flew TC MAN-MCO, then AA MCO-JFK, and TC JFK-MCO. Cost around £650 pp in total for the 3 flights, all economy.

Why are you planning a return to MCO? You could save money if you fly into JFK or MCO, then fly to the other destination for the second part of the holiday and return from there. It would save one set of flights. Unless I have misunderstood your plans. Hope you find something that suits 😊

yes, tried

LHR - JFK
then MCO - LHR

then will add the JFK - MCO when they come out

but the price of the first is still too high

though found one with a Iceland stopover, but its too short i think

We are doing LHR-JFK in July '18 then MCO-Gatwick all direct flights. I've been tracking this flights and on kayak and Skyscanner it's £650 pp. Domestic flights of JFK to MCO is £85 on AA.

I would wait for the US carriers to release their flights and book multi city. We've done this route a couple of times and always found it cheaper than booking separate flights and includes luggage.
