Video editing software

DH wants to use an editing software to do our holiday videos, has anyone got any recommendations, nothing to complicated but still able to add music, fading, text etc. We don't have an apple upto date laptop , ours is a brilliant laptop as we all use iPads mainly.

I use Cyberlink Power Director 14. The latest version Power Director 15 is on Amazon for £45.
Easy to use with lots of features. There are plenty of video tutorials on you tube.

Davinci Resolve has a free version which is very well featured but is aimed more at the Pro level. A good easy to use effective editor is Gilmore from Wondershare

can you clarify?

are you saying you have an apple laptop, but its not up to date, or you just have a "brilliant" windows laptop?

if you have even an old apple laptop, imovie will more than do the job and is free

depending on the age of a windows laptop, you *may* have windows movie maker bundled with it, which was half decent until it was discontinued recently. again, it was free software...
