Mobile Groan - gifts for 5 year old

I know it's very early (sorry) but I like to start my Christmas shopping early. I always have loads of ideas for my DS5 but I'm stumped so far! He's just started school and feel that he'll naturally be influenced by his new school friends in what toys/characters they like but does anyone who has 5/6yo boys have any suggestions please? Xx

My DS has just turned 5 in August. We've started the Christmas shopping and so far all he's asked for is playmobil.
I picked up a smyths catalogue today so will ask him to make a collage of cut outs from it.

This is what I do. I give mine a copy of an Argos or Smyths toys catalogue. My youngest cuts out pictures of toys he would like and makes a collage which we send to Father Christmas instead of a written list.

I gave my 4 year old the Smyths catalogue today. What a mistake. She had such a long list she then went onto what she wants for her birthday (in April)! 😂 I seem to remember I was like that as a child too. 🙈

Maybe take him into a toy shop or give him a catalogue and see what he wants.

Thanks - I gave him the smyths catalogue the other day but he wasn't too fussed, my nephew was here so he was distracted x

My son loves nerf guns, he also wants 'pig goes pop' & 'gooey Louie' he is also getting a bike & scooter.
Halfords have a good deal on an electric scooter £85 instead of £150 if he would be able to use that? My son would not be safe lol

Mine are past that age now but if he's not expressing any interest in the latest fads I would stick to age old favourites of Lego or Playmobil and maybe books (Book People have great offers) or board games (Frustration, Jenga, Junior Scrabble, Junior Monopoly). At that age it's normally quite easy to "feed them suggestions" for their letter to Santa to match what's in the loft !
