Spectrolee's Three Week Disney Trip - Day 5 Pool and Disney Springs

Ed was very unwell today, so Eva and Matt stayed in most of the morning.
Eva managed to reschedule their Beaches and Cream trip until tomorrow.

Joni put on her sunscreen for her swim.

Joni had some fruit, carrots and hummus from last nights sides.

I used a meal credit for a ceaser wrap. It came with crisps and a drink

It filled a hole, but I wouldn't get it again
(The backstretch bar only offers 3 pre-packaged sandwiches and a fruit cup - I think the others were tuna and ham & cheese)

After our swim we got ready for a stroll round to Disney Springs

We left around 5:10 and were at the golf shop a few mins later

We walked the opposite way today, through the golf course tee off area towards Cirque du Soleil

We reached the end car park at 17:17 and saw some of the new 'Minnie vans'

We reached the House of Blues at 17:23, so the Grandstand building we are staying in is really handy for the West Side area of the Springs

We popped in for a beer (and a hot dog for Joni) while listening to some excellent live music.

Joni had a wee dance with Doc McStuffins

We had a wander through some shops en route to Homecomin'
The light in the Town Center was beautiful at this time in the evening

We never had a reservation, but there was only a 20 minute wait (was more like 5)

Not included on the dining plan, but we ordered an appetiser
We had the Fried Green Tomatoes- they were delicious.

Davie and Isabel had the Fried Chicken (huge portions, I had some too)
Best southern style chicken we've had (although we've never eaten at Olivias yet)

I had the shrimp and grits. I thought I wouldn't like grits, but tried them at HoB last year and really enjoyed them.
These ones were plain (the sauce and ham on top was not yet stirred through)
They tasted to me a bit like rice pudding (which I love anyway) The sauce was very flavourful .

We all really enjoyed ourselves here, and our server was fantastic.
We were too full for dessert right away so we had some cakes to go.

Hummingbird cake (pineapple banana cake)

Chocolate cake

Pecan pie
The pecans were candied, yum!

They gave us 3 tubs containing a scoop of ice cream in each. We ate these walking round the Springs

We stopped by here

for Davies sherbet fix

We walked back home from the marketplace end of the Springs
Saw these cool vinyls in Wonderful World of Disney Memories (across from the Christmas shop)
We had a lovely relaxing day (well as relaxing as it gets in Disney)
In bed for 11pm as we've got Magic Kingdom in the morning.

A nice laid back day, sometimes that's just what you need.
