I think the best way to do it would be to work out what melas youd like to have and then work out whether or not it will cost you more than £588 or not, don't forget to include the cost of tips and any extras such as appetisers or alcoholic drinks.

We had the QSDP for our first trip in May and decided not to upgrade. Partly because it was our first visit and we didn't want to worry about making it to meals on time when we didn't know our way around! Plus when I checked the menus it just wasn't worth it for us. I guess each individual will be different so you'll get different opinions on whether or not it is worth upgrading.

Hi, we upgraded, also staying at french quarter. On our last visit we had 3 table service meals, 2 character meals. With a family the difference was very small in the amount of the 3 meals and the upgrade so we just went with that. 😀

If you have a couple of table service meals you particularly want to do cost these as it may be cheaper to pay OOP. If you are planning more then it is cheaper to upgrade. However remember the extra costs for tipping.
We prefer the first option QSDP and adding a table service if we are celebrating. I much prefer to eat when I want rather than to a timetable booked months in advance. We manage to eat well and not live on burgers and chips.
There will be plenty of opinion about all your options

Oh definitely upgrade if there for 3 weeks. There's some lovely restaurants at the resorts and Disney Springs.

Without a doubt I would upgrade, you will be bored of quick service meals if you are there for 3 weeks. DDP is amazing.

No hesitation, upgrade. It's a small extra cost which will give you access to some fabulous restaurants.

But don't forget to factor in the extra $30 or so that each table service meal will attract on top of the upgrade price

I was amazed at the amount we spent in tips as it's 18% and I think was we want to get the 'most' out of our dining plan we are at the more expensive places that were available. The average main course is over $20 , I think the lowest we paid was at trex and that was $20?in gratuities. On the other hand it was lovely to have table service... if I did again would mix it up with 'cheaper' table service restaurants. Oh also our favourite meal was the fantastic package at mama Melrose

We upgraded last time but aren't bothering when we go next year. Though there are some fabulous restaurants for us we spend a lot on tips (5 of us tho!) and we got a bit fed up of having to leave places because we had ADR's booked!
