Discounts for missing two days?

Appreciate there are more things to worry about for others but anyone (who was there at the time) get any refund/discounts off disney/universal for the two days lost?

Or claim anything at all from travel insurance?

I would be surprised if you could claim anything back because a company decided to close in the interests of safety for it's staff and guests.

If you buy a combined ticket, I very much doubt you can claim anything back for that. As coggie says, the parks were closed for public safety.
Claiming back in cases of a natural disaster are always tricky anyway.

My husband mentioned I should look into it but I shall not bother. When we knew Irma was coming and we would have be on lockdown for a few days, we hammered all the parks in before the storm came. Had 2 days in the villa which was actually lovely. We played disney monopoly and in the garage on the pool table and air hockey table and had some good family time. We were chomping at the bit come 6pm on the Monday, me especially as it was my bday! When we went out, there was nowhere to eat apart from a chinese buffet which wasn't the best but served the purpose of getting hot food.
Suppose it all depends on how much you feel it ruined your holiday because I know it didn't ruin mine at all

No, not offered anything and haven't asked. We would have bought a 14 day ticket anyway and it wasn't anyone's fault.

Emailled Disney - given 3 X 3 day park hopper plus tickets, expiration 2037
Emailled Universal - given 3 X 2, 3 park tickets - no expiration date

It does pay to ask the question, and like someone said before, if only British companies offered the same level of satisfaction for customers

Wow that's customer service. Although the parks being closed was for safety during a hurricane and I wouldn't ask for or expect compensation.
