Scrapbooking Newbie

Hello all,

I recently purchased a scrapbook to document all my holidays from when I was younger, up until my latest trip to DLP. I have bought a few bits and pieces to get started like paper with patterns to use as backgrounds etc, photo corners to stick my old tickets, photos etc in (I don't want them stuck in there permanently!) etc etc.

However, I was wondering if there were any tips for starting me off as I'm struggling for ideas, as well as the best places to go for materials etc?

Thank you in advance!

There's also Pinterest where you can see what other people have created. Be warned though - Pinterest can get addictive !

The one piece of advice I'd give anyone starting out something like scrapbooking - get an organisation system in place for you stash asap.

Seriously, it's amazing how quickly it grows, and can grow out of control if you're not careful! I always find inspiration flows more easily if I can see what I've got... and my plan for the weekend is to practice what I preach!

I recently took photos of my scrapbooks so I will share a few snaps

Hoe important is it to you that you remove things? As i think you will get a much better look if they are permenantly stuck in.

I intend to keep my scrapbooks for ever and if i had a big enough house id get a fireproof safe for them as they are just full of important memories for me.

I include loads of photos in mine, embellishments i buy, things i pick up along the way (coins, postcards, souveniers etc)
Allsorts really, ribbons, leaflets, invites etc

It so much fun and can spiral quite quickly with costs lol

These are just a few of my fav pages
