West coast air & road trip Sept 2015

So I have decided to finally get round to doing a pre-trip report of my own after spending so much time reading everyone else's. I've been on & off the Dibb site for a number of years so thought I should contribute.😊.

Background; I am 37 and DH is 42, we've been together since 2001, and got married in 2009 (he proposed in the Victoria & Albert restaurant in the Grand Floridian). We met whilst working as holiday reps and we both love our holidays, our life revolves around the next trip.
We have been to Disneyworld 5 times over the years and have broken it up with trips in between to Spain, Italy, Greece, New York, Las Vegas (5 times) Hong Kong (including Disneyland),Hawaii and most recently Dubai & Sri Lanka... but we always yearn for the U.S. For DH his fave is Las Vegas and mine is Disney.



These are the books I've been reading, I love planning!

This trip is our first time doing the west coast and came about after we had started planning Route 66...but felt a little bit like we would just be doing all the other stops as a route to getting to Vegas & Disney, so we changed it to a west coast trip. The itinerary looks like this;

Day 1 flight from Manchester to Las Vegas - 3 nights in the Bellagio, we have previously stayed in MGM, Paris, Bellagio and Mirage, we liked Bellagio best, so chose there again.
Day 4 fly to San Francisco on Virgin America for 4 nights in the Argonaut hotel in Fisherman's wharf.
Day 8 pick up convertible car and drive down to Carmel (possibly stopping at Santa Cruz and Monterey) and overnight at Carriage House Inn.
Day 9 drive highway 1 down to Pismo Beach for overnight at Seaventure Inn
Day 10 on to Disneyland for 4 nights in the Disneyland hotel.

Already have my tickets and have a 3rd pouch to keep them in!
Day 14 drive to Las Vegas for overnight in Mandalay Bay
Fly home.

It does does'nt it...I believe its recently been renovated as well. I just need to decide what we're doing on our short stay, we've done a few of the Cirque shows and did Absinthe last time, as well as shooting guns..I need to get my planning books out. Only 10 weeks to go 😄

Not long to go now...we've made some changes to our bookings in Vegas and Pismo. Instead of Pismo, we're now going a bit further and staying the night in Santa Barbara, we have also changed the Vegas booking from Bellagio to Mandarin Oriental I can't wait.
