iCloud is completely out of my knowledge zone and this may be a really stupid question.

I had an iPhone 7 which I’ve hand-me-downed to DH when he got me the iPhone X. When I had the iPhone 7 I used up all of my iCloud storage so it wouldn’t do any backups.

However, when I was resetting the iPhone to give to DH I upgraded my iCloud storage before doing a backup.

None of my photos are on my iCloud from my iPhone which had all of the photos from our wedding and honeymoon in WDW (not to mention about 1,000 pictures of the cats sleeping, eating and watching TV)

Is there any hope?

Oh no- it depends on whether you have ever backed up?
It should load photos from your last back up but sometimes take a while to catch up. 😳

Pretty much what Floridarules said, one thing though, going forward it’ll be a good idea to do a backup to you computer now and again and when changing devices it’s best to do a full backup to the computer and restore to the new device.

Weirdly, it wasn’t showing in my photos from the iCloud website but I noticed that the iPhone 7 was still in my iCloud. Because DH has that phone we used that and he managed to find them all

They’re very slowly loading back onto the iPhone and they will be backed onto the hard drive later today. All is right in the world again.
