:) Travelling with an ADHD child

Hi! im new here and this is my first post!

we have been planning on taking our children to Disney for a few years but as my son has ADHD and Autistic traits and a few other mental health issues (quite severely) we have been putting it off until we learnt how to control the condition a bit better.
Anyways, my question is...does WDW offer any sort of concessions for a disabled person (who isnt visually disabled) and their carer?

I am trying to distinguish if it would be better to go to DLP or WDW.

Thank You in advance xx

I would definitely recommend DLP as you first port of call just to see how your ds handles it.

It’s such a long journey to take and risk him becoming distressed, or alarmed by the crowds etc. Of course, only you know your son and can gauge how you think he may handle the heat/crowds etc

That’s not to say that WDW don’t have any consessions for those who are disabled, it’s just that I think DLP from what I remember was a little more relaxed in regards to their policies and cards.

AFAIK disney world doesn't have any concessions like dlp does but it does have a ride access pass that helps with queing (as does dlp).

I have been to both several times with my daughter who has asd and she copes quite well as long as we understand her limits and take plenty of breaks.

I find the ride access pass at dlp far better than wdw's as it covers charecter meets and quick service restaurants.

Hope this helps.

WDW has no monetary concessions for the disabled or their carers but it very accommodating of all kinds of disabilities. They can not ask for any kind of proof of disability under US law so any discount could be easily abused.
