This is us too. We have paid for everything and qualified for absolutely nothing. Supported both our kids through uni and are trying to help them buy houses.

In the past you could get tax relief on school fees - that sounds fair - although a policy like this won't win many elections
Sorry that's a silly reason, what about people with no children, they have to pay towards state education. Sending a child to private school is a choice, why should it be in effect subsidised by other Tax Payers?

I agree it was a silly reason, but you argument was even sillier, it's a well proven economic fact that private school users heavily subsidise the public tax system and not the other way around. You are entitled to your view but please at least research if it's true before you start stating facts...

Private schools receive Charity status because of their input into local schools.
Do you think people who pay for private health care should receive tax relief too because they reduce pressure on NHS?

Yes I do...

Doesn't mean I'm right or that it will happen but it seems fair to me.

You have omitted to accept that you were wrong about private schools being funded "round-about" by tax payers though I notice

because they are also paying to the Education system through taxation without using that facility.

This was why I fully supported the Poll tax. Those that use more of the services should pay more towards them
