Small SUV advice

There are only two of us going to Florida, we will be picking up from Alamo at the Disney Car Centre and returning to the Dolphin, while we are there we will be travelling down the Gulf Coast with a couple of long stops en-route.

What I want to know is:
  • Are we likely to get the Int Suv or get upgraded? We don't want a massive one.
  • Will our luggage be on view in the boot or is there a parcel shelf?
  • Can we pick out our own car at the Disney Car Centre like at the airport?

Thanks for your help

If you use the Disney Car Centre you will find that they hold a smaller number of vehicles than the airport so you will most likely be given exactly what you have paid for and in all the years that I have had SUVs, there has never been a parcel shelf.

If they try to give you a bigger SUV then just say no!
Although there is no cover the rear windows are heavily tinted and it is VERY difficult to see the contents. 👍

OP. I have swapped out a few cars at the CCC due to slow punctures. Have a chat to the Ladies on the desk in there. So helpful and not pushy like the Airport ones.

As per Greyfriars ref the windows. The Jeep Cherokee we had in October I literally could hardly see in.

Thanks for the help everyone

How do we organise the shuttle to the car care centre, do we do it over here or on the day?

Sadly you cant do it from here as it's a max of 24 hours before and with our early flights etc and the time difference it doesn't work out.

The Car Care Center offers Guests the services of Alamo Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental.

Operating Hours:
6:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday
6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Saturday - Sunday

Contact
(407) 824-3470

Pick up and return your National or Alamo rental car at the Car Care Center, located near Magic Kingdom park. Our convenient, complimentary shuttle makes it easy with door-to-door service from your Resort hotel to the Car Care Center.

Walt Disney World Resort Guests should inquire at the Concierge or use any Walt Disney World Resort lobby phone to be connected to Alamo Rent-A-Car at the Car Care Center.

This gives you more specifics about pick up places etc.

We picked up an intermediate Suv from the car care centre last year. We were told we could have a Nissan Rogue or a Jeep Patriot. We said we'd have the Nissan (similar to a qashqai) but then she said she'd made a mistake and that was in a higher catergory so gave us the keys to the jeep.
Went outside to the ugliest car I'd ever seen, me and DH both said we weren't driving that so back inside and asked for something different. They then found the keys to a Ford Escape (kuga) which was a nice car, so happy in the end. Although later found out the Nissan was in the category so maybe I should of insisted on that.

Nissan Rogue ‘Sport’ is smaller and equivalent to Qashqai so would have been, Nissan Rogue is equivalent to X-Trail so is a ‘Standard’ SUV size so is the category above. Same story with Hyundai Santa Fe - the ‘Sport’ is smaller.
