Star Wars fireworks in August
Tomorrow is my ADR day and I’m planning meals around 2 nights in HS’s, one for Fantasmic and one for Star Wars fireworks but I’ve suddenly noticed they’re not showing for August. I think they’ve been removed as I’m sure I saw them on there when it was all predicted.
Have I missed an announcement that they’re no longer on or is it just they have only been confirmed up until a certain time during the summer?

They have never been on there. They only go up to June at the moment.

Ok, thanks. Have you heard any hints it may not be on?
If it is what time do you think it would be on? Park hours are showing as park closing at 8.30 and Fantasmic at 8.30.

I'm interested to see if anyone helps with this as I am really unsure about what the Star Wars fireworks are and when / where you can see them.
All I really know (or believe) is that you can't do Fantasmic and the Star Wars fireworks on the same night - which means two late evenings for us in DHS! |

Personally, I think HS were holding off confirming anything schedule wise until the TSL opening which has just been announced. So hopefully they'll start filling in the hours and shows now.
They may well be pausing them for a bit to deal with the increased crowds but they do have them listed on opening day so that's a good sign that it's just that the July/August schedules aren't confirmed yet. It all depends on what times they're scheduled for. Often they are back to back (e.g. Fantasmic at 8pm and SW at 8:30pm) but at the moment, they're scheduled an hour apart at the end of June. So you'd be able to see both if that's the case on your dates. As for what they are, it's a SW themed projection/fireworks show. The projections are on the Chinese Theatre so they are best seen from the area just in front of that or the main boulevard. Edited at 04:25 PM. |

We last went in August 2016 and the HS park hours were the same back then as they are for this August. So if the hours and the shows stay the same then they will be back to back and realistically it is unlikely you would be able to do both shows on one night. I'm not sure we can reliably use previous years timings though... It's anyone's guess what will happen with the toy story land opening as July now has EMH every day. Also, we are all assuming that they will continue with the star wars show and maybe they won't. It's a fab show and DH and DS would be disappointed if it wasn't on.
For my plans this summer we have 2 evenings at HS. 1 with an ADR and 1 without so I'm hoping we can be flexible enough to get both shows in, I'm not going to count on being able to do both in one night. Fingers crossed star wars will continue.

We have 2 days at HS but the first one of those is only our second full day and I would rather have this as an early night, but it looks like we might not be able to do that.
