Mandatory reconsideration
hi
I just wanted to post that I got my decision and i can't stop smiling I have gone from 0 points for both to the enhanced rate up until 2022 I wanted to thank you all for your supportive comments and especially Disney daffodil for her messages of support xx I have not seen the letter yet, I got a call and it was relayed to me in that call that I have got the enhanced rate for both, I had to ask the lady to repeat it I was in such a state of disbelief I might cry because it's such a relief, i'm so very, very happy right now thank you again everyone for your support |

So glad you got the right result in the end and for a few years too.
My daughter was awarded dla and that's due for renewal next year and I'm dreading it if I'm honest but we will see how it goes |

collect evidence as much as possible, GP medical history, social worker care plans, fall assessments/ wheelchair clinic and include them in the pip application I didn't include that much because I rather naively thought that they would ask for a report from my GP or at the very least one of my consultants (I have three) but they no longer ask for these reports for my MR I gathered everything and sent of 20+ pages of evidence which very obviously helped |

Our trouble is we don't have many appointments for our daughter so not much documentation to back up our renewal, last time we kept a detailed diary and school wrote a report about how school life affects her. It all worked last time so hopefully will the next time

If your child is supported in school then I would get a copy of any documentation that shows how and why she is supported and I would start a diary again, even if it's just two weeks of information then that could help I would gather any evidence even if a few years old that relates to reduced ability and difficulties and then I would go to a GP or a known to you paediatric doctor ?with a GP i would make a double appt for their time and ask if they can make sure all of your daughters needs are up to date on her medical records and then ask for a copy of these if the GP is sympathetic I would also ask if he would write a letter that confirms any difficulties your child has because of their condition does any of that help ? As I have already said, I am so pleased about this Sunny1 😀. I am happy to have been able to give a little support. But you did all the hard work gathering all the evidence. Your specialists were incredibly helpful on getting detailed reports together very quickly.
It is really a case of showing how much your conditions affect day to day tasks. Lots of information relevant to this is where points are awarded. Many people come to CAB and state their conditions but cannot (sometimes due to their limitations from their conditions) explain what that means to their day to day routine which we (as advisors) need to be able to put on the forms. The other important point is to keep records of all doctors appointments and what is said to use in future applications for PIP. Also to keep copies of everything you send as supporting evidence. Again, I have been smiling since you told me your news yesterday. Thanks for passing on the news to give others in your situation hope. It isn't easy but genuine cases deserve to get the award, it is so upsetting to see people come into my office in tears over this. |

aww that is so nice, again thank you so much
I was so upset when I saw my Atos report and I didn't sleep for days afterwards, I have no family I could talk to so being able to talk to you albeit in a message really helped xx it is hard and I cried when I spoke with my consultant, the Atos nurse who did my assessment dismissed my focal seizures as "nothing really" and my consultant was furious about this, his letter was very clear on what this means to my day to day life which definitely helped |
