How many days for Tokyo Disneyland & Disneysea?
Hi Guys,
How many days would you say you need to do the 2 parks justice? I'm looking to add it into a wider Tokyo trip. Also, does anyone have any recommendations for must dos while in Tokyo? Thanks in advance

How much of a fan are you? You could do 1 day each for each park if your time in Tokyo is limited, however ideally 4 days, 2 for each park is recommended, as they are large parks with so many unique attractions.
I believe most people tend to do a split stay with maybe 4 or 5 days in the city, and then 4 days at Disney, that is our plan for February Have a look on japan-guide.com Tokyo section, breaks down the top sights to see in each district of the city.

A lot will also depend on what time of year you visit. We went immediately after Golden Week, one of the quietest times, and found that a three day ticket was just right for us. You have to nominate which park you want to visit on the first two days and can then park hop on day three. We spent more of our third day in DisneySea just because it was so different to any other Disney park we've been to.
Our must do in Tokyo was a ride on the Shinkansen - we took a short trip to Odawara. My only regret was not having more time for shopping at Ginza. My trip report is here if you fancy a read. https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1025238

Thanks guys.
I've just finished your trip report Lucy, and it's put my mind at rest about few of my worries (language barrier and food!) I've seen a hotel in Shinjuku, but I was wondering if you thought a split stay anywhere else in the city would be worth it? Rough plan so far is 5 nights shinjuku, 1 night Odaiba and 4 nights in the Tokyo Disneyland area. Looking at early March to travel.

I might add that it may be more trouble than it's worth moving to odiaba for one night
There is only one train in or out and so it might be best to stay in Shinjuku and have a day trip to odiaba Just a thought

I'm not sure I could be doing with a split stay in the city with all the upheaval with luggage, checking out, checking in etc. Once you get the hang of the transport system, which really doesn't take long, it's so easy to get around that for me it wouldn't be worth the hassle of switching hotels. I like an easy life lol. Shinjuku is also a great base.

We did 2 days in each park staying in a Disney partner hotel (in August), then moved to Shinjuku for 4 nights to explore the rest of Tokyo. I thought that was a good amount of time for both portions of our holiday.
