DAS pass- is it/can it worn?
We will be applying for a DAS pass for DD, she is a 10yr old with HF ASD. I know some people like to be discrete with regards to their disability but for DD it is better others are aware of her SN. She is very tall, looks 13/14. She loves hugs, is very tactile, can appear immature yet can go into meltdowns like any child with ASD but she doesn't obviously stand out initially as having SN.
She is becoming aware and accepting of her ASD and is dealing wonderfully with it and has recently been open about telling classmates etc. She accepts she needs additional help so would be ok with wearing something like a lanyard. In fact we have one for Dublin Airport (Important Flyer). What exact format is the DAS pass, can it be worn on a lanyard so people are aware immediately rather than me having to take out a card each time and have to explain? I am thinking of in shops/restaurants/meet and greets where she is likely to come in contact with servers/CMs/other guests. TIA,C

It is either a card that they write return times on or linked to your magic bands if you have them so can't really be worn.
Could you make something before you go a badge or lanyard not sure what you would put on it though. |

I'm going to make a little credit card size printout that states my son has autism and is pre-verbal. I want to make cast members/characters aware without having to say it all the time. I'm worried that at 7 our son might now be starting to understand and I don't want him to think it is a problem if I keep saying something. I thought if I could just flash a card it might warn them to his bouncy ways so to speak.

Just returned from Florida and our DAS passes were put on our Cards used to enter the park. I am sure Disney sell lanyards you can put these cards in.
I did see someone with the paper DAS. I don't know why ours was on our admission card but they had a paper one. |

Tbe only time we had a paper DAS was when the computer system wasn't working and they couldn't add the return time to MDE for it to be read on DD's magic band.
OP, my DD is 14 and only recently diagnosed with ASD. She much prefers people to know so that they don't think she is rude for not making eye contact etc. She found her own rubber wristbands and badge on the internet. Shs even wears the wristbands at school. She also made a laminated card with my phone number and an explanation on it that she wears on a lanyard when in the parks. This makes her feel secure that she wouldn't have to speak if we were separated. The wristbands and badge are easily available on Amazon. They are often noticed by characters when she meets them and most give her a bit of extra special but gentle attention.

I will have a check for you when I get home. I will also take a picture of what she has.

These are what my DD chose herself on Amazon. She thinks they were just under Autism wristbands. She wears the bands at school everyday and the badge on a lanyard when in Disney.
