Both those recipes sound delicious, thanks for sharing, I shall try both in due course.
I love golden syrup on Yorkshire puddings, pure comfort food.

I remember the nigella Lawson episode where she made a big Yorkshire pudding with loads of softly whipped cream and golden syrup poured all over, looked like heaven, keep meaning to try it
I'll be trying the cake out, sounds gorgeous especially with custard after Sunday dinner

We had it last night warm with vanilla ice cream and the boys took the rest home to go in their lunch boxes for work

The syrup cake is amazing!

We had some after our Sunday lunch yesterday with custard and/or cream, and there is enough for dessert tonight too. Proper yummy, thank you for sharing the recipe. I can see it being a real favourite in this house!

Do you mind me asking how you do overnight oats? I've heard of them but not sure how to do it?

Thanks

I use the small Douwe Egbert's size coffee jar ,it's the right size, more for the bulk of the fruit than the actual quantity, around 50 gr oats and a bottle of actimil , you can use any type of milk some people use yoghurt but I have never tried that .put in any fruit that you like , I prefer fresh fruit and use blueberries, raspberries , strawberries, banana , you can chuck sultanas, raisins any other dried fruit in .
The way I do it is to sprinkle some oats in the jar add a bit of fruit then drizzle either syrup or honey over the fruit , then add a few more oats , half the actimil the rest of the oats then top with more fruit and add the rest of the actimil top with fruit. I sometimes add a little bit of milk in the morning if the consistency isn't to my liking, I don't like it too stodgy .
I like it layered but you can just chuck all the oats in then the fruit then the milk , it's purely to your own taste , I like the drizzle of syrup or honey but it's not needed .you just make it to your own taste and put in what you want .
Hope that helps .
