I find AK the hottest of the parks, which I know is insane but it always seems to be baking when I go there. I did manage 2 back to back rides on Everest, 1 with FP and the other as a solo rider. The food looks great, I find I'm always underwhelmed at Disney with the food, one of the reasons I haven't gone for the Dining Package this time but I do love a gherkin and coriander (or cilantro as our American friends call it). I have to confess I saw ROL also on a dining package in my trip in April this year and it was nice but wouldn't rush back - the warm up wasn't as good as Fantasmic and the show was much more subtle than I expected. I also went to Tusker House and was very disappointed in the food (I avoided the meet n greets as I would feel strange doing them).
I wonder how long it’ll be before FOP ride queue times start to drop, or FPs become easier for off-siters to snag.

Haha, you’re my polar opposite, tastebud-wise, as gherkins and coriander are two of my least favourite things. And we loved the food at Tusker House! I bet you like celery too 🙀 But yes, the food in Pandora was really excellent and I’m looking forward to returning next year.

We didn’t see any of the warm up for RoL as we just scraped in before the start. I’m really glad we got to see it after the false start last year, but next time I think we’d just find a viewing point from somewhere else in the park.

Wow what a long day in AK, I am impressed as we never seem to make the most of our time there and as a result it has always been my least favourite park... I am hoping that Pandora along with experiencing it at night will totally turn it around

Absolutely love the Tusker House character meet photos... despite what you say I totally think you both were loving it! ;-) I am sad there are no photos of the food though, I blooming love a tater tot!

Pandora sounds amazing, I am happy to hear that you don't think it's necessary to have seen Avatar to enjoy it (I have never seen the film and don't have too much desire to really, especially after your review of it! )

Your photos of RoL are gorgeous! Were they taken on your phone? Stunning!

Oh and I am most disappointed that you didn't get sucked in to the Avatar models... that would have been a great follow-up to the amazing Star Wars photos of 2016!

Such a great read as always... I'm slowly starting to catch up!

I do like celery - as a base to a stew, not really to munch on. I will eat it in a salad though. I think Tusker house buffet had been quite picked over when I went so maybe that was the difference.

To be honest...it’s still my least favourite park. I can’t put my finger on why, as Everest is my favourite ride. I think something about the layout and the lack of places to stop and chill out.

I’m sure knowing the Avatar film well just enhances the experience but you really don’t need to know it to appreciate it. Plus they ram everything you need to know for the ride during the pre show so don’t put yourself through the torture of the movie.

Ha ha. Tusker House. Poor Mickey. I am considering the Garden Grill breakfast for our next trip though so you never know, there might be more character interaction on our next trip...

Could you imagine if we’d come away with $200 worth of Avatar dolls this time?! 🙈

Happy you’re catching up! xx

I think we were lucky with TH, especially as we didn’t hit the buffet til about 10:00 - the stuff we had was all fresh and hot. Can see why it wouldn’t be so good if it had already been ransacked. I did notice a lot of food on the floor by the serving stations.

Oh I laughed so much at your breakfast stories Between the waitress, hitting Mickey and your awkward photo it made for very funny reading

Great but long day. I can’t imagine spending that much time in any park let alone AK. Well done for making the most of it.

Glad to read you didn’t enjoy Avatar either. We turned it off too, just couldn’t get into it so I wondered if we will like Pandora when we (eventually) get to see. FoP certainly made an impact on you so it obviously doesn’t matter too much.

Thanks for sharing x

Honestly, I couldn’t even make these things up. Poor Mickey. On his birthday too!

We always seem to do long park days - just can’t bring ourselves to leave. The FOMO is strong with us.

I think you’d still like Pandora even if the film bored you to tears as it did us. The gift shop might not have that much excitement if you aren’t a fan of the movie but the ride stands alone, I think. And it’s a very pretty part of the park - fits in well with the theme.

Wow, what an epic day. Your waitress sounds very odd! We did a Tusker House breakfast on a whim but that was a mistake really as we didn't leave ourselves enough time - we only saw Donald. The food was good though.

Pandora looks and sounds amazing (we were bored by the film too - they lost me at 'unobtanium'!), and Rivers of Light looks um... interesting!
