Hamburg hotel recommendations

We are planning a brief trip to Hamburg just after my birthday in May and we are looking for 2 nights somewhere that is near to popular places to visit. We then are going up to Ruegen for a few nights and then, on the way back to Hamburg airport we are planning one night somewhere else - maybe Rostock. Not sure yet. Any help on hotels in Hamburg greatfully received!

Just to let you know - we booked the Adina! There are two now and we booked the one in Speicherstadt area. Thanks for the tip.
