Of our 4 trips this year so 8 flights I have found the following
£81, £427.89, £3479.03, £622 and £644. The other 3 legs I had as UC anyhow.

I booked the £81 straight away and I check the other legs every day. They will change I know.

Edit. The £3479.03 is actually on the rise! Now up to £3487.59

I’ve been keeping an eye on prices to upgrade for a while now, particularly on the outbound flight - the prices started at about £3700 - 2a 2c but last week they went down to £1020 - with a refund for the seats we had paid for, that was £900 so I was happy with that! Now waiting for inbound but don’t think that will come down and not that bothered about PE coming home. Last time someone in front just reclined their seat anyway and I slept, so to me it’s wasted on the inbound - much more perks on the outbound imo.

Thanks Mr TM, I'm a fully fledged Dibber so I will keep checking... just in case the £81 comes up, now where's the 'fingers crossed' smilie? 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hi
Can I ask how you check once you have booked? Are you just going new dummy booking and comparing the price to what you paid?

I booked with virgin holidays, so I have been using their live chat. I can’t ever work it out by doing a dummy booking as it depends on class of ticket I think, and that’s too complicated for me!

How did you get a refund on the seats you had already paid for please? Did you have to ring them up?

But what did you pay for your flight to get that cheap upgrade. My return is also showing 500 to upgrade from pe to upper and yea slightly tempted would love to lay down and sleep on flight back.

I wont touch VH and you cant check an upgrade price online with them.
With VA you can, you just log into your account, select your flight and there are 2 'buttons' One is bid for an upgrade and the other quotes the upgrade price now.

The bid offer is pants!

I have the app on my phone and it shows my flight when I open it and an upgrade price. If I go to select seats it brings up the map and as you scroll up and down the relevant upgrade cost. Tried ringing them a few times but absolutely no movement on price I was seeing.
