Singapore for 1 week
I'm thinking about Feb half term 2019 in Singapore with our 8 year old. Do you think it's too far for a week?

Personally I think it is. We are going this summer but combining it with Malaysia to make it 2.5 weeks.
But I wouldn't go to Florida for a week either and plenty others do. Depends how much you like flying and how easily you get over jet lag. Personally I hate flying and suffer jet lag weeks after I get home. |

The journey to Singapore is much longer than to Florida. Our DS will be there in a week or so and I wouldn't contemplate all that travelling time to go and see him.

I just flew MCO-LGW and LHR-SIN. LHR-SIN is about 4 hours longer than LGW-MCO, but the LHR-SIN/SIN-LHR planes I've been on are also nicer and newer than the MCO-LGW/LGW-MCO planes I've been on so it's actually a more pleasant flight.
I will happily fly to Orlando (from Singapore) for a week. But I also don't have a problem with flying long haul and treat the flights as a good opportunity to sleep, and have minimal jet lag issues. Though not sure if 1 week in Singapore might be too long (it's a city and there's a decent amount to see, but most of my friends who visit tend to stop over for a few days in Singapore and then head to Malaysia or Thailand or similar)?

I have done Kuala Lumpar and Hong Kong each for a week! However, each time it was a solo trip!

Ok thanks. I do fancy Bali too so maybe wait and tie it up with that over a longer holiday.

I don't think it is really too far, but I don't think there is enough to do in Singapore for a week.

Its a long trip but if you like flying why not!
Disagree that there's not enough to do for a week we where there nearly a week and didn't manage to fit everything in! We flew with Singapore airlines direct and they have been the best airline (of many) we have flown with. We did a week in the Maldives after but really it was like two separate holidays |

We did Singapore and Bali last summer. I agree that you may struggle to fill a week in Singapore. Bali is only around a 2.5 hour flight away so extend/postpone your trip and do both. It’s a long way to go just to do Singapore
