Another good reason to give Disney a miss this year. We noticed back in 2015 that the Disney magic just wasn't there for us, not sure if it's because the boys are older or something else. It's just getting too expensive to go to Disney imho.

You'd not go, because of an increase of less than a coffee?

No because year on year Disney has become more and more expensive without gaining anything. The only new thing is the Avatar stuff at AK which does not interest me in the slightest. HS is not worth the admission with only a few attractions running, Epcot has had nothing new for years and Disney Spring is an overpriced shopping mall. Plus as I said in my original post the magic has gone for us.

Think the parking is getting a bit excessive. They need to look at doing an advance parking ticket at reduced prices.

I don't think it should be just for advanced parking. Think how much they earn a day in parking
2010 figures show roughly 30000 parking spaces in Disneyworld - that's $660000 per day at maximum occupancy .
I wonder if they are doing this as they would rather people stayed on-site and avoided such charges

Nah- they are already at 91% average occupancy in the hotels- much of the time they are booked up.

It is just a huge revenue generator. The figures above will be overstated as AP holders, those on site, DVC owners staying on site etc get 'free' parking, as well as it is often not at max capacity, but I reckon they'll be making $400k out of it on average, a not to be sniffed at $146,000 000 a year.

The parks are a money printing machine at the moment, and with Star Wars opening, only a major recession will put the brakes on it.
