Bizarre Job Titles - The World Is Mad!

There was a News story on BBC Wales yesterday about a child being left on the school bus and found at the bus depot.

That's been dealt with but it's the title of the person who dealt with it I find bonkers.

Vale of Glamorgan Council's Head of achievement for all dealt with the issue.

Good nice to see they did but what is their job?

So I did some digging around. I see Cardiff Council is advertising the following:-

Waste and Recycling Cemetery Operative

Mmmm. I think I could have come up with a better title for the role which involves removing flowers, sweeping and tidying the chapel. Sounds like they are recycling the dead!

Oh and another one. Trainee Lifelong Learning Technician. By reading the job description I note it's for a Trainee Librarian!

Who picks these grandiose job titles and do they live in the real World?

Oooh, I think I'll be Disney Parks "Head of Joy For All".

Of course, I'll need to tour the parks regularly, testing all of the attractions to ensure quality of Guest experience!

I was I looking at one of my old employers websites the other day and in their media releases they announced the appointment of somebody into the newly created role of “General Manager Commercialisation and Implementation”!

I think a good job title is one where the average person might have an inkling as to what it entails!

Ha ha, I laughed at that one Tom.
I get sick of hearing about head of 'thought leadership ' and similar job titles.

I have just found another advert

Environmental maintenance operative - we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.

So it's a bin man or bin lady.

Seems to be a recurring theme with Councils!

Love these - what a load of waffle!
After 30years working in a bank I took early retirement. A Jobcentre advert said 'Dog Holiday Co-ordinator wanted'
Now anything with dog and holiday in the same sentence is worth reading so I applied and have worked for Barking Mad for 3yrs 🐶
My DH was a police officer - they had a Force poet😂

I suppose it's easy to jazz up your job title. I, for example am a particularly fine Multi-Franchise Automotive Componant Departmental Manager and Logistics Enabler (Retail and Trade)

I work in Local Government, I've lost count of the number of times the name of our department has changed over the years. It seems someone is trying to think of the most obscure name so that when you answer the phone to the public they haven't got a clue if they've got through to the right place because the name the department bears no resemblance whatsoever to what we do.
