New York passes advice

Going at Easter and I've read so many contradicting reviews I don't know what to do for the best.

Last time I had the new york city pass and it covered what I wanted to do fine but I went in February, now going at easter I'm wondering if it will be a lot busier.

I've read that passes such as the explorer pass are no good as you have to line up to exchange your pass for tickets so you queue a lot longer?

We would like to do

ESB
TOTR
911 memorial
Circle line cruise
The Ride

Then all the standard visitor stuff like Central Park etc

Any advice would be fab

Hi, I have been looking at this too. Given what you want to visit the Explorer Pass May work well. You can choose, 3,4,5 or 7 attractions from the list which are priced accordingly. I think all 5 of the things you mention are included.

We used the explorer pass last summer. We had the 3 attractions pass for ESB, TOTR and the Ride. We didn't have any problems with using it. I wanted to go up TOTR at sunset so we went there first thing in the morning when it was very quiet to book our time slot. We also had to go and book up the Ride time slot. Neither of these really affected our plans too much. We really loved all 3 and definitely saved money buying the pass compared to buying the tickets on the day.

Thanks all for the advice, so you didn't find you had to queue for ages or miss out on attractions?

I like the idea of going to TOTR and booking, as a few of the posts I'd seen said they all get booked out you'll never get a chance and that you'll get up there if you buy direct and book now

We were in nyc in july last year and it was fine for us to go in to the TOTR ticket office in the morning and use our explorer pass to book the time slot for sunset that day. I don't know if you can book a few days/weeks in advance or not, but it didn't matter for us.

We're going at Easter (our first visit). I looked at alot of different tickets. We are there for 8 full days. In the end I went for the 10 Explorer Pass as it had everything we wanted to do. We'd like to do ESB and TOTR - I think this is maybe the only pass that offers the option to do both.

I think we'll just get this then! Where did you buy yours from?

Very easy to book your slot at TOTR and The Ride.
We always get passes from Attraction Tickets Direct.
