Read post #169, you can apply by email to Orange County tax office about 4-6 weeks before you go. They will post the permit to you in the UK.

So can someone please confirm how the issue of disabled parking 'tags' works? Am I correct in thinking that the permit is valid throughout the state of Florida no matter which county you get the tag from? It just so happens that Disney is in Osceola county but we can get the permit from another county (in this case Orange county, as per post #169) even though we aren't actually staying in Orange county? I'm not sure how many counties make up Florida but if this is the case I guess you could apply to any one of them and get a valid permit that you could use in Disney?

The last time I went was several years ago and when Osceola were still accepting email applications.

Disabled parking permits issued in Florida can be used in any part of the USA.

When applying as an overseas visitor you don’t need to state your exact address you are staying at in the US.

Hi
Sorry thread quite long here... so are U.K. Blue badges not valid at all in Florida, both in parks and elsewhere?
If not, what is the process of applying for a temp one (current website/email etc). I'm going in August, so when should I apply? Are they still $15?
Thanks

I have just successfully applied by email and paid for (by telephone) a disabled parking placard with Orange County Tax collector.

I made an enquiry on the contact us page: octaxcol/contact/
I got the following reply:
Greetings,

To issue a US Parking placard I will need you to complete the attached form and return with signature and travel dates. I will also need a copy of your blue badge (front and back), and your passport. The fee is $17.00 US Dollars [$15 + $2 card fee] that can be paid by credit card after processing your documents.
Thank you

Form was attached to reply but can be can be downloaded at: flhsmv.gov/dmv/forms/BTR/83039.pdf

As a Non-US citizen you only need to fill in the top section and where it asks for Florida driving licence or ID card simply write NON-US.

I simply emailed all the copies of the documents back to the agent dealing with my enquiry and within an hour and a half had a reply saying they had rec'd my documents and all that was required to complete my application was payment. A phone number for payment is given in the reply for it to be paid by card over the phone.

This was duly done, an email receipt was issued immediately and the agent said the placard would be processed that day and sent to me in the UK.

I eagerly await its arrival.

Hi. Was just wondering if there is any other way to pay Orange County.
Two years ago, we just went to the local office, but from what I have been reading on here, it seems that people are phoning and paying over the phone.

I'm a bit nervous about giving my card details over the phone to anyone.

Also, if I have to, what is the average cost of a call to Orange County Tax office?
Thanks
James
