Awesome! You should hopefully see Killer, Humpbacks and Blues. We only saw blues, but we also saw around 1000 dolphins which was something else.

I love wildlife, so it was really interesting to speak to those doing the tours, and also observe how they spot the whales, the blues especially pop up for only a short time then move so quickly to another destination.

You should get to see the sea otters too, cute!

Hi Geoff!

We've just got back from our Norway/Baltics DCL Cruise and now all attention turns to Disneyland!

20 days until I head off

So exciting to actually be there on the 17th of July - I shall look out for you

This morning I printed off details of everything happening in San Francisco on 4th July. One event is a sail out on the Bay in the morning on the Privateer. She departs from just behind the Aquarium on the Bay (near Pier 39). They serve champagne and Mimosas (Bucks Fizz) so I thought it would be a pleasant surprise for Darrin on our actual anniversary - hope he doesn't read this!

We've found most restaurants aren't taking bookings for the 4th. It will be first come, first served but we've been given a tip for the Blue Mermaid (owned by our hotel the Argonaut) - not saying what it is! Also the hotel have told us exactly where to be for the fireworks and we were advised to take a picnic blanket as everybody sits - how civilised! This will now be the 4th time we have celebrated 4th July in America.

Edited at 12:37 PM.

Booking at Disneyland is SO easy. You do it at 60 days before and you do it online. All sorted within 3 minutes per booking. We have yet to book the "Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps" tour but booking for that is at 30 days before.
I've organised a State Park day out whilst we are at Pismo. The Montana de Oro park has stunning coastal views. And I've booked restaurants in Santa Barbara - the Barbareno comes with stunning recommendations.

Erm I thought you started this pre trip report stating lots of chill days

The first week is real chill stuff. A bit of exercise at Disney will do us no harm!
