Thank you, I was really pleased with it. Although I did have to phone them after the policy came through, as even though I was very clear on the phone plus corrected them, it still came through that I'd had my gall bladder removed rather than my actual bladder! All sorted now though.

For anyone staying in New York after the cruise can I ask how you plan to get from the cruise terminal to your hotel?
Although my hotel is not much more than a mile from the terminal, as I am travelling alone I don't relish the thought of walking that distance with my luggage in tow. I am therefore planning to get a taxi but as it will be rush hour I am concerned how much this could end up costing as I have heard some horror stories. So I was Just wondering what everyone else was planning to do? |

I have pre booked through Carmel, they had good reviews. Paying on arrival so if they don't turn up will get in the queue! There are 5 of us including a 2 year old so trying to keep it as easy as possible!

Yes we are I had read that it's not actually more expensive, as you have agreed a set rate where as with a taxi or uber with traffic it can go $$$$$ tbh with amount of luggage we have and a 2 year old and in laws I'm just taking easy route to get from A to B

You're absolutely right as traffic in NYC can be murderous. Definitely a pre-paid as even with a tip it could be cheaper.
Walking is fine though .. everything is in blocks and you'll see plenty of people hauling luggage around. What about the subway instead though?

I did consider the subway but as I am on my own with two bags I have ruled that out and by the time I have walked to the subway I may as well walk to my hotel.
The car service sounds like a plan but I wouldn't know what time to book it for and it says they charge waiting time! I am hoping to do express walk off and be off the ship as early as possible but who knows what time that will be for sure. |
