NCL buy OBC at $ exchange rate on day you booked

Someone posted about this on Facebook at it's a really useful tip. If you go into the gifts section you can buy OBC gift certificates which are charged at the exchange rate the $ was at when you booked. For me, this means I'd be buying at �1/$1.45 so much more favourable than current rate. I won't have huge onboard spend as we have the drinks package, but I'll certainly be buying a $100 or so to cover my son's arcade addiction. Also well worth playing gratuities before travelling as currently �8.50 per day vs $13.50+ if you let them put on your account.

It's a great deal. We did it on a Princess cruise in July and got $1.54 to the �.
