We had 2 verandah rooms on the Dream this Aug (interconnected). Loved sitting out there in a morning and on a evening winding down after the shows and fullness of the day. Each to his own but I wouldn't have liked to be enclosed hence the room choice x

For your first 3 night cruise, I would not recommend this at all. You would miss a Main Dining Room experience and for those who haven't done them, they really should.

We've cruised with a balcony, and twice without. I do think it's nice to have a balcony on a longer cruise actually, but it's definitely not necessary.

A three night cruise will be over in a flash. You'll hardly be in the room as you'll be all over the ship exploring and enjoying all the facilities. So for that reason I would not book a verandah.

I would, however, really recommend considering the four day cruise rather than the three day one. Somehow, it feels significantly longer! They aren't always much more expensive, either.

We recently did the 3 night on the Dream and had an oversized verandah. It was really lovely but to be honest when you're in port at Nassau you don't always get the best view we were looking at another ship) so you wouldn't want to spend that much time out there anyway. And Castaway Cay is a must do so you won't be using it that day either. The most time that we spent on ours was the sail off from PC! I wish we'd had such a lovely big verandah for the WBTA though, we'd have been out there all the time! Save your money for the onboard booking deposit for your next cruise ;-)
