Change to universal for 3 nights then back to Disney - Virgin Holidays?
We have had a booking staying at the Dolphin hotel in WDW booked now since end of last year, we are staying 14 nights in Sep 2021. Though to make life easier as we both don’t drive aboard we where thinking of amending this (if allowed) to stay on Universal Resort for 3 nights at start of holiday and then move onto WDW for remaining 12 days, so don’t have to keep going back and forth in taxis and get resort benefits that come with staying on properties. Stupidly we should of thought about this when booked last year.
As mentioned we already have a booking made since end of last year and this is with Virgin Holidays. Does anyone have any experience with VH at amending current bookings (staying in a new hotel in the area for a couple of nights and reducing stay at current booked hotel for another hotel) ? Is this allowed / will I incur charges or do I have to cancel our current booking and loose deposit etc? If it can’t be done it can’t be done but I thought I’d try asking if anyone knew on this forum first. If can’t be done won’t amend it and we will just get taxis to and from for a few days. |

You will more than likely be charged an admin fee. Have you priced up staying universal and not amending booking? We stayed 1 night last year and done in middle of holiday but still had other hotel. Just thinking might not work out more expensive if charged admin.

I changed a VH WDW holiday back in 2017. I booked before free DDP was released.
When it was released they allowed me to amend my booking by cancelling the previous one, with no charge, booking again with new deposit and then moved my original deposit to the new holiday. My new holiday was slightly more expensive and they didn't charge me s fee. I also moved dates (from a Saturday to the Wednesday) due to free DDP cut off and hotel (from CBR to AKL). Maybe if they want an admin fee due to the new booking being less pick a different hotel to make the cost the same? I also changed a VH Vegas holiday last year. After booking VA announced a sale knocking hundreds off my holiday. The same person cancelled and rebooked my holiday. We saved about £700 a couple on 4 NTS in Vegas. Definitely ask them to price it and see what your options are. I always deal with someone in-store. |

Great thanks guys so it is possible it seems. I have looked but not priced it all up yet as wanted to check on here first if it was possible to change. I didn’t think it would be without cancelling and loosing deposit.
