Why might we need one please?

It lets you amazon prime. If you don�t have Sky or an Ariel it also allows you to watch other tv channels via the internet. I have one in my bedroom i use for bbc iPlayer & Netflix.

We use ours for Netflix and YouTube where we watch tim tracker and other Disney vloggers

If you don't have a smart TV, it will allow you to watch services such as Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube on your TV.

However for many people, they are also used to watch content of questionable legal standing such as sports and movies from streaming platforms.
