Refund or rebook for 2021?

Hello

Hoping for some wise words!

We originally booked Virgin flights to MCO in October, these have now been cancelled.

We have been given the option of moving the flights and also gaining 32,000 Flying miles as an incentive.

Looking to rebook for August or October 2021.

The main issue is that I made a rookie error and paid for the flights with a debit card and not a credit (therefore harder to be covered by Section 75 in case airline folds etc).

So would you pursue a refund with Virgin or hold tight and rebook and take the incentive?

I really don't know what to do! Thanks

I would get a refund.

Until it gets back to normal I wouldn't travel as the new rules are not worth the large amount you pay for theme parks.

The day they drop the mask rule is the day it will be worth travelling.

Agreed. If you are going for the theme parks I would wait.

There are plenty of people who are perfectly happy to wear masks there. Maybe not on here but certainly on the FB groups I belong to.

Yes I have heard people aren't bothered about wearing masks.
The Disney Memory Maker will be useless having every pic of people wearing a mask.

I can't stand wearing a mask in Tesco's nevermind a theme park but that is my choice many others won't be bothered.

Thanks for the replies. It wasn't really the mask wearing that was the issue, it was really whether I should take the refund or not - given the precarious state of the airline industries.

That's what I'm leaning towards but I'm dithering!

I defo want to rebook but will be doing that with a credit card. Lesson learnt!
