Sounds like a great trip. The Canadian side of Niagara is soooo much nicer than the American side. You'll all love the Maid of the Mist and the Behind the Falls Tour.

just found your pre-trippy while searching the Dibb for posts about the Cog Railway so will be interested to get your view when you get back home and have shaken off the jet-lag

we are doing a 3 week tour of New England stating and finishing in boston and funnily enough I too have booked the Gale River Motel in Franconia-hope you liked it

Loads of the things on your "to-do" list are on mine so looking forward to your trippy

I've been debating whether to pre-book the Cog railway-is that what you did?

And how long was the drive from Gale river motel-just wondering whether to book the steam train at 9am but think we may struggle to get up early enough

Hi Janet,

Yes we pre-booked the Cog Railway for the 9 a.m. steam engine. I think we left about an hour for travelling there from the Gale River Motel and you also have to get there 15 minutes early to change your e.ticket into a real ticket. People were also queuing up to get on from about half an hour before the train set off so it was quite an early start.
