Aer Lingus - email received today FYI

I have just received the "important information about your upcoming flight" email. Giving choice to change without a fee or apply for a voucher. The email refers to dates between 20th July and 16th August for bookings made before 31st March.

We don't want to rebook dates or a voucher, so I am hoping this is the precursor email to full cancellation.

Our flight is 27th July (LGW-DUB-MCO)

Fingers crossed we can end up with a full refund option. We are now looking at a last minute deal to Europe somewhere, pending the air bridge announcements due Monday.

I had a few emails prior to our cancellation email advising we could amend or request a voucher. I waited for the cancellation email and this arrived about two weeks before we were due to fly, then submitted a refund request.

Just received the same email. We are due to fly on the 15th. I am holding out for a refund. To change dates to April they wanted nearly £500 extra for flights that were advertised at the same price. Errr no thanks!

The refund form is on their website they just don't show you where it is.

Completed ours in April for our May flight today is day 64.

I got it too this afternoon. No mention of the extra 10 % if you opt for voucher so presume that's finished.
Looked at moving dates and they were literally charging an extra €1k on flights in May.
We will be waiting on our refund.

Can I just ask is this booking direct with Are Lingus or via BA? I have booked with BA but fly out with Aer Lingus and return with BA. Not sure where we stand.

My booking was direct with AL Pete. I would imagine you have to go thru BA.

Thanks Ciano. I’m fortunate in that I’ve only paid deposit but wasn’t sure who would deal with flight out. BA and Aer Lingus appears to have different approaches to cancellations so useful to know. Sadly we won’t be going as too much uncertainty for us with little ones. Looking for plan b now though.
