Just a word of caution re Aer Lingus


There are2 different types of cancellation form on the aer lingus website, so make sure you fill out the correct one.


one form is when AER LINGUS CANCEL your flight and you are notified by them of this.

The other one is when YOU CANCEL the flight for your own personal reasons.

The Flight Disruption form (linked by Poly Girl 68) above IS THE CORRECT ONE

Just ensure your flight is definitely cancelled by them before you send it in, otherwise they may say YOU cancelled the flight.

thats important to get your money back.

I caved and went for the voucher BUT am now worried they'll 'crease' me next year for my July flights-

yikes!

AM I right in saying you cannot book flights online with their voucher? I thought you could but cannot find anywhere to input it when going through a dummy booking?

If you go right through to the last page of a booking, under flight summary and above where you’d put card details in if paying by card, there is a place to add details of a voucher

I called them earlier and asked what my options were as we are flying into Miami and can’t rebook the route as they have pulled the entire flight schedule. I was strongly recommended to wait... for further announcements.

Do you currently have a flight booked, my sister has a booking Manchester, Dublin, Miami and would really like to cancel, her flight is not available to book, in fact none are to Miami. Aer lingus have not been very helpful and would not confirm or deny that the flight has been cancelled. She is in limbo at the moment.

Yes we have a flight booked. 15/8 outbound. They said it’s still scheduled. We will just have wait it out like everyone else. It’s so frustrating.

We are booked on Dublin to Miami on 12th Aug. I am sure it will be cancelled now. Hang in there! Problem is will prob be months waiting on money back.

On Flyertalk there was a post saying several US routes would not return once flying restarted. Miami was one of the routes mentioned.

The way things are over here in Ireland at the moment, I'd be very surprised to see any additional USA flights operating for passengers.

There's huge disagreement between vars business bodies, air lines, public health officials and the govt as to whether or not its safe to let people fly.

The EU put a spanner in the works when Ireland was precluded from EU travel ban lifted.


Hold tight I think you will be OK for July and August but not sure about September as the 'covid' situation here seems to be getting better and thankfully no spikes yet BUT as we only opened up most bars, restaurants, hair dressers, hotels etc with strict rules in place on Monday, the next 2-3 weeks could paint another picture (hopefully not)
